We’ve introduced a new, more intuitive relationship between Screens and Players inside Castit CMS, making your workflow simpler, setup faster, and content management more predictable and flexible. This is one of the most important structural changes we’ve made so far, and if you use Castit every day, you’ll feel the difference immediately.
What Are Screens, and What Are Players?
To understand the new CMS structure, it’s important to clearly distinguish these two concepts.
Screen - your central hub for managing content
A Screen is an administrative unit inside Castit CMS, the place where all your content lives and where you control what appears on your displays.
Inside a Screen, you can:
- create and edit content
- add playlists, slides, apps, and videos
- set schedules, display rules, and playback times
- decide what shows where, and when
A Screen is not a physical TV. A Screen is a digital control panel.

Player - software running on a physical device
A Player is the app installed on any device that shows your content, including:
- Android devices
- Samsung & LG professional displays
- web browsers
- Castit Box
- any compatible device used for digital signage
Every physical device requires its own Player. The Player’s job is simple: fetch content from a Screen and play it for your audience.
What Exactly Is Changing in Castit CMS?
Previously, the Screen–Player structure included extra grouping layers and limitations that often created confusion:
- it wasn’t always clear how many devices were showing the same Screen
- preparing content in advance was difficult
- the connection between Screens and devices wasn’t 100% transparent
Starting December 1, 2025, everything becomes much simpler.
1. New Concept: One Screen → Multiple Players
A single Screen can now have one, two, or even ten Players linked to it, whatever suits your setup.
This brings several major improvements:
- all linked Players show the exact same content
- system structure is cleaner and easier to understand
- no more unnecessary grouping layers
One Screen becomes your single source of truth for all content.
This is especially useful for spaces with repeated content across multiple displays, such as lobbies, retail chains, restaurant menus, franchises, office floors, and more.

2. You Can Now Prepare Content Before the Device Exists
This is one of the biggest advantages of the new structure.
You can now:
- create a Screen
- upload all your media
- design slides
- build playlists
- set schedules
- fully prepare your content
…and only later, when the physical device is ready, add the Player.
Previously, you couldn’t prepare a Screen without connecting a device first — which slowed down setups, installations, and planning. Now you can work at your own pace, completely blockage-free.
3. Clearer, More Logical System Management
The new structure brings a cleaner, more predictable workflow:
- you know exactly which devices belong to which Screen
- you can see how many Players are linked
- everything is neatly organized under one Screen
- you can easily add more Players later if needed
This is particularly helpful for multi-location customers or businesses managing dozens or hundreds of displays.
Why This Change Matters
- Simpler workflow: Fewer clicks, fewer layers, less confusion for new users.
- More control: Screens and Players are now clearly separated, with a transparent relationship.
- Faster deployments: Prepare everything upfront - just add a Player when the device arrives.
- Scalability at its best: One Screen can power as many Players as you need — perfect for retail chains, franchises, restaurants, hospitals, corporate floors, and more.
- Cleaner CMS experience: The interface is more predictable, organized, and logical.
A More Flexible and Future-Ready Castit
This new Screen ↔ Player structure makes the entire system easier to use, faster to set up, and more aligned with real-world digital signage workflows.
It was designed to:
- simplify daily operations
- increase flexibility
- reduce setup time
- improve the overall user experience
With this update, we didn’t just “adjust the structure”. We laid the foundation for a more resilient, scalable, and modern system. Now is the perfect time to try it out inside Castit CMS and see how it fits into your everyday workflow.
