The team at GuideLites continues to improve the Castit platform to make managing digital signage simpler, faster, and more reliable. During the first quarter of 2026, the focus was on improving stability, usability, and expanding what users can do with the Castit CMS.
These updates bring better system performance, new hardware support, improved security, and several new features across the platform. Below is a clear overview of everything that has been introduced and improved during the first months of 2026.
Faster and More Stable Digital Signage System
A reliable digital signage system starts with strong foundations. In Q1, we focused on improving performance and stability across the entire Castit platform. These improvements ensure that your screens, players, and content management tools work more smoothly in daily operations.
Key improvements include:
- General system optimization for faster performance
- Improved platform stability across the CMS and player environment
- New option to turn screens on or off remotely when needed
- Additional backend tools for monitoring and diagnostics
To support troubleshooting and faster support responses, we also introduced new internal monitoring capabilities.
These include:
- Live device statistics
- Player status monitoring
- System version and OS information
- RAM and memory usage (heap monitoring)
- Log access for diagnostics
This gives our support and technical teams deeper visibility into potential issues, helping us identify and resolve problems faster.
Interactive Digital Signage for Android Devices
We introduced a new interactive digital signage capability for Android-based devices. Previously, interactivity required using dedicated Castit hardware players. With this update, Android devices can now support interactive layers directly. This enables new types of screen experiences where users can interact with content instead of only viewing it.
With the interactive layer enabled, screens can support:
- Touch interactions
- Clickable elements within content
- Interactive navigation between slides or pages
- Action-based screen behavior
This opens the door for use cases such as interactive kiosks, product catalogs, information points, and more.
Slide Creator Improvements with Brand Color Management
The digital signage content creation experience inside Castit has been upgraded with improved brand color controls in the Slide Creator. Organizations often want their signage content to match their brand identity. With these new tools, it is much easier to maintain visual consistency.
New Slide Creator capabilities include:
- Brand color configuration settings
- Support for HEX and RGB color formats
- Color picker for easy selection
- Custom color palettes
- Solid colors, gradients, and radial color backgrounds
- Defined brand color ranges for templates

These improvements help teams design professional slides faster while keeping content aligned with brand guidelines.
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for Digital Signage Security
Security is critical for any digital signage CMS, especially when screens are deployed across multiple locations. To strengthen account protection, Castit now supports two-factor authentication (2FA).
With 2FA enabled:
- Users log in with their regular password
- A temporary 6-digit verification code is required
- The code is generated by an authentication app on the user’s phone
This means that even if someone knows your password, they cannot access your account without the second verification code. 2FA adds an important extra layer of security for managing screens, content, and users inside the Castit platform.
E-Paper Display Support in Castit CMS
One of the major trends we observed during ISE 2026 was the growing adoption of e-paper digital signage. E-paper displays are energy-efficient screens designed to update content without continuous power usage. They are particularly useful for:
- Retail shelf labels
- Meeting room displays
- Office signage
- Transportation schedules
- Menu boards and information panels
Because of this growing demand, Castit now supports e-paper device management directly inside the CMS.
With this update, you can:
- Add and manage e-paper devices in Castit
- Monitor their device status
- Trigger display updates
- Control content changes remotely
This allows organizations to manage both traditional displays and e-paper signage from the same platform.
Castit Now Available in More Professional Display App Stores
Castit continues expanding its digital signage player availability across professional display ecosystems. The platform is now available in additional professional display app stores, including the Philips Professional Displays ProStore. This allows organizations using professional displays to install Castit directly from the display’s app marketplace.
Benefits include:
- Faster player deployment
- Simplified installation on supported displays
- Reduced hardware requirements
- Easier device management
This expansion helps more organizations run Castit directly on supported professional display hardware.
Redesigned Digital Signage Apps Section
We have redesigned the digital signage apps section inside the Castit CMS to make integrations easier to use. The goal was to simplify the way users install and configure apps for their screens.
The updated Apps section now offers:
- A cleaner and more organized interface
- Easier app discovery and installation
- Simpler configuration workflows
- Improved management of installed apps
We also introduced several new apps, expanding the range of dynamic content you can display on your screens.

New Castit Dashboard for System Overview
A new digital signage dashboard has been introduced in the Castit CMS. The Dashboard provides a quick overview of your network as soon as you log in, helping you immediately understand the status of your screens and players.
The Dashboard includes:
- Option to leave reviews on platforms such as G2 and Capterra
- Player status overview showing
- Total players
- Online players
- Offline players
- Quick link to open Player Settings
- Map view displaying the geographic location of your players
- News section featuring the latest Castit blog updates

This central overview helps users monitor their digital signage network more easily.
Microsoft Sign-In Added
To make account access more flexible, we added Microsoft sign-in as a new authentication option. Castit already supported several sign-in methods, and Microsoft now joins the list.
Users can now sign in using:
- Microsoft
This makes it easier for organizations that rely on Microsoft ecosystems to access Castit using their existing credentials.
Improved Help, Documentation, and User Support
We also invested in improving how users get help while working with the digital signage platform. The goal is to make support resources available exactly when users need them.
New and improved support resources include:
- Dedicated documentation website
- Expanded FAQ section inside the platform
- Contextual info buttons across the CMS
- Onboarding guidance for new users
- Tutorials and how-to guides in the Castit blog
Together, these resources help users learn the platform faster and solve questions without interrupting their workflow.
What’s Coming Next
The first quarter brought many improvements, but development continues. We are currently working on additional improvements focused on player performance and hardware compatibility.
Upcoming work includes:
- Optimizing Castit players for weaker hardware devices
- Improving stability on lower-performance systems
- Further platform performance enhancements
More updates will be announced soon.
