Digital signage content is becoming more dynamic every day. Screens are no longer static posters; they’re real-time information hubs with constantly updated content. That’s why we’ve upgraded the Slide Creator with one of the most requested features so far: the ability to add both playlists and applications directly to a single slide, alongside images, text, shapes, and backgrounds.
This unlocks a new level of flexibility. A single slide can now display multiple content sources at once, such as a clock in the corner, rotating images on one side, a social media feed on the other, all living together in one layout, on one screen.
What Is the Slide Creator and How Does It Work?
The Slide Creator is Castit's built-in design tool that allows you to create your own slides, meaning you can design exactly what appears on your screens without any external software or complex design tools.
You can draw, arrange, combine and add:
- images
- text
- shapes
- backgrounds
- playlists
- applications
All directly inside the Castit CMS.
Where to Find the Slide Creator in the CMS
After logging into the Castit CMS, you’ll see the Slide Creator option in the left-hand menu. Clicking it opens the canvas, i.e. your workspace where you design and edit slides.
Here, you can add elements, resize them, reposition them, layer them, and combine multiple sources in a single layout.

New Feature: Add Playlists and Apps Directly to Slides
Until now, the Slide Creator was mainly used for static or semi-static visual content. With this new update, slides become fully dynamic.
How It Works
1. Open your Library
This is where all your media files, playlists and applications are stored.
2. Choose the playlist or app you want to insert
You can add anything: Facebook or LinkedIn feeds, weather apps, news tickers, Power BI charts, rotating photo playlists, and more.
3. Click “Add to Canvas”
You can add elements by clicking: the + icon, or the three-dot menu next to the item
4. Place the element on the slide
Once it appears on the canvas, simply drag it into position—on top of a background, aligned with other elements, or as part of a structured layout.
5. Save your slide
Click Save, then:
- name your slide
- set its duration
- confirm your changes
6. Preview and publish it to your screen
Before going live:
- click Preview to see how it will look on the actual display
- click the three dots in the top-right corner
- choose Set to Screen
Your slide will appear instantly on the selected screen.
How Multi-Source Slides Look in Practice
This update allows a single slide to do multiple jobs at the same time.

Example 1: Information Screen
- left → clock and weather (app)
- right → rotating visuals (playlist)
- bottom → scrolling announcement bar
Example 2: Reception Screen
- center → welcome message
- right → Facebook or LinkedIn feed
- bottom → playlist with company images
Example 3: Restaurant Display
- top right → weather app
- left → menu slide
- right → playlist with food photos
Why This Feature Matters
This update makes your screens more flexible, powerful and efficient. It lets multiple content types live together on one slide, with no extra steps and no complexity. The result is a more professional look, faster editing and always-fresh information.
It allows you to:
- show several types of information on a single screen
- combine static and dynamic elements
- design visuals faster and more easily
- reduce the number of separate playlists you need
- create clearer, more modern and more professional layouts
- automatically update content through apps (weather, news, social feeds…)
Simply put: less work, more impact.
